My journey into dietetics began in 2009 when I started running. I began training for my first half marathon and naturally started to make nutritional changes as well. I was surprised at how much better I felt and how my running improved from making a few simple nutritional changes. I also lost 20 pounds without trying and I thought “hmm… maybe I should go back to school to become a dietitian.” So that’s what I did!

Throughout the week I see clients 1-2 days for one-on-one counseling, and then based on the week I will either have 1-2 presentations, prepare a written article, develop recipes, or work on the program development for my camps which are well distributed throughout the year.
Read MoreGrowing up as a classically trained dancer, I quickly caught on to what foods helped me perform at my best and kept me fuelled through long rehearsals! Secondly, as I spent most of my days in form fitting clothes and in front of a mirror, talks of food and body image were all the rage. My desire to help others, interest in science, and love of food steered me into the field of dietetics after transferring out of my early university studies in theatre and dance.

Physicians would always refer to RD’s for prevention and treatment. Our food system would be more sustainable, making healthy food more available to our clients. Finally, RD’s would be less competitive with one another!
Read MoreMy career path has always been focused with an entrepreneurial drive. I was a previous business owner and planned on owning my own business after completing the dietetic internship. I jumped in feet first and never looked back at any other way. I’ve been very happy doing my own practice and growing throughout the years with new projects and endeavors. I have had many mentors along the way who helped guide me and show me that there are so many opportunities out there in our field.
