Follow your heart no matter what. It already knows exactly what you want in life.

As an online presence, Tony was recommended to the series by a dietetic student. I love when people reach out because they know they're doing something non-traditional or they have a unique story/career (path) to share, I also enjoy when I get referrals and recommendations as it's great to see who provides inspiration within the field of dietetics.

Why did you become a RD?

To help other people achieve their fitness and fat loss goals and use fitness as a way to better their lives.

What area of dietetics do you work in?

I own an online coaching and consulting business that is full time. I also do public speaking and media work.

How would you explain what you do?

I work with clients from around the world to help them achieve their fitness and performance goals. I work with high performers, who want to take their health to the next level. I do macro based nutrition coaching and don’t believe in diets or restrictions.

What are your ‘typical’ daily/weekly tasks?

That is variable from day to day! It’s usually content creation, client management, coaching calls, and I am a BIG believer in personal development every day which involves my own healthy way of life such as fitness, reading, and eating right.

What has been your career path?

Right out of college I worked for a big box gym as an RD. I was promoted to club manager, and then regional manager for the nutrition program within 1.5 years. Then I left and formed my own company and have been doing this ever since!

What advanced education or special training do you have?

I invest my money into mentorship and coaching from successful business owners and entrepreneurs instead of more formal education at this point in my life.

In an ideal world, what does the industry look like 5 years from now?

In a fairytale world I would say that America would really tighten down and say you MUST have an RD to provide any type of nutrition advice, but let’s be real that won’t happen. I honestly see the competition for nutrition related services becoming higher and higher each year. So you really have to make sure you deliver an excellent product and are able to set yourself apart from the crowd!

What do people think that you do for a living?

Create meal plans and slap food out of peoples hands all day :)

What makes RDs unique/different from other nutrition/wellness professionals?

We are formally trained. We have a medical credential after our names and have gone through a process to become an expert. A real expert never stops learning. So just having an RD isn’t enough to be at the top of the field anymore, but it’s a great start.

What is your favourite meal?

Lasagna!

What tip(s) would you give to our readers?

Follow your heart no matter what. It already knows exactly what you want in life.
