Wow, there are so many things that come to mind but I think the one thing I’d really like to see in years to come is ensuring that there are opportunities for everyone who wants to be a dietitian to utilise their skills so they can be the dietitian they want to be. That new grads don’t have to keep their job that got them through university but that they can get out there and start using their skills, that dietitians stuck in jobs they don’t enjoy have the freedom to pursue a different avenue within our profession. I want every person who wants to be a dietitian to be able to do exactly what makes their heart sing so they can have the most rewarding career of their life.

I went back to get my FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner) from 1996-1999. Throughout grad school I worked as an RDN and an RN (Registered Nurse) - also obtained in grad school. My career path has been a bit unusual. While I was in college and graduate school studying nutrition, I worked as a personal trainer in corporate gyms. Once I graduated and became an RD, I left the fitness industry and started working as a clinical nutritionist at a large NYC hospital; however, my heart wasn’t in clinical and I missed the fitness/wellness industry. I then started working in the wellness industry for a couple of years and finally left to start my own nutrition private practice and consulting business. I am able to combine my love for nutrition and fitness and share it with my clients. My other passion is teaching so I started as an adjunct lecturer at a local college. I teach 1-2 classes a semester and it’s a nice compliment to having my own business.

I work both in the private sector as the owner of Integrative Nutrition Solutions, a private nutrition consulting company, as well as in long term care in multiple skilled nursing facilities. At Integrative Nutrition Solutions, I work inside a naturopathic wellness center, Fresno Holistic Medicine, where I collaborate with a Naturopathic Doctor (ND), holistic psychologists, and a chiropractor. We are a team of practitioners who truly focus on an integrative approach to healing.

I work in private practice in the coaching industry. More specifically, I work with women (from all over the world) struggling with body image and food fears, and who are looking to seriously get off the diet roller coaster and feel healthy and happy in their body and life. I do this through 1:1 coaching and my online course, Ditch the Diet. Get MORE. I also do love coaching, but that’s a whole other area! But the two really go together. If you can’t love yourself and your body, it’s hard to show up fully in a romantic relationship.
