What are you passionate about in dietetics?

The growing job opportunities, the various areas a RDN can work, and that the respect for our knowledge is growing (I wish it was faster).

I help nutrition entrepreneurs (“Nutripreneur”) go from the overwhelm of the JOB to owning their own business/movement capable of earning a six-figure income following a proven system which provides a profitable and sustainable result.

Moushumi Mukherjee, MS RDN

I started out working as a community dietitian, then worked in the hospital setting for a little bit. Once I had kids I started my own consulting business with many different corporate groups, working at long term, assisted livings and hospice and home care as well. I also have worked with some food chains and corporations/physicians doing wellness and have really enjoyed this as well.

Dr. Meghan Scott, BScH, BScAHN, MBBS, RD

I started in clinical nutrition, working in a big hospital right out of my internship. After about a year, I took some time off to travel and when I came back to Canada I decided to start my own consulting business, and ended up working at a jail! Really, I worked for the company that provided the meals for Ontario inmates, but the kitchen was attached to a jail, so it was an interesting environment. After that, I worked in long term care, which I loved! Then, the opportunity to work in the north came up, and I moved to the Arctic for my current position.

Robyn Kievit Kirkman, FNP-BC, RDN, CSSD, CEDRD

I went back to get my FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner) from 1996-1999. Throughout grad school I worked as an RDN and an RN (Registered Nurse) - also obtained in grad school. More recently in 2010 I went on to obtain the CSSD (Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics) credential and then three years ago the CEDRD (Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian).

I am an Account Manager with Complete Purchasing Services (a Group Purchasing Organization and a division of Aramark). I am responsible for servicing and developing the Complete Purchasing Services primary market (mainly senior living facilities) in Nova Scotia. We provide best value pricing on products and services utilizing the combined purchasing power of Aramark and our client locations.
